Cookies Policy
Special policy on the processing of users' data collected through cookies on the websites of the Borgstena Group.
This Cookies Policy governs the processing of data, including personal data, of users collected through cookies, and complements the general Personal Data Protection and Privacy Policy.
1.Commitment to data protection and privacy
The Cookies or Testimonials Policy governs the processing of data, including personal data, of users (hereinafter the User or Users), collected in the context of the use of websites or applications through cookies, by Dual Borgstena Textile Portugal, Unipessoal, Lda., a legal person with identification number 502355409, as the entity responsible for the processing, hereinafter referred to as Borgstena.

4.Concept of cookies
Cookies are small information files placed by the websites visited by the User and stored in the browser of the device used to access the internet, namely a computer or a mobile phone. These files help websites to remember information about the visit and to facilitate the next visit, maintaining the User's actions and preferences for a certain period of time, maintaining or recognising the User's name, the language in which they wish to browse the sites or other settings, as well as personalising the User's experience through specific content or allowing the collection of information about the use of the websites.
5.Categorisations of cookies
Cookies may be classified into three broad categories, according to their purpose, the entity that places them and their useful life or storage period.
6.Categorisation of cookies by purpose
By purpose, cookies are classified as follows:
- necessary cookies — these are functional and necessary to ensure the operation of the website or the availability of the functionalities requested by the User, as well as to save their browsing preferences whenever they use the same device and so request;
- analytical cookies — these are of an ancillary nature and collect statistical information for the analysis of the use of the site and the management of the relationship with visitors, measuring interactions with the advertisements displayed;
- personalisation cookies — these are of an ancillary nature, are not necessary for the operation of the website and improve its performance, allowing the User's browsing experience to be personalised;
- advertising cookies — these are of an ancillary nature and seek to make advertising more relevant for users and advertisers, selecting advertising based on the User's choices, improving campaign performance reports and the presentation of advertisements that the User has already seen or marked as relevant.
7.Categorisation of cookies by placing entity
Considering the entity responsible for placing the cookies, they are classified as follows:
- first-party cookies — sent to the User's device through equipment or domains managed by Borgstena and from which the service requested by the User is provided;
- third-party cookies — sent to the User's device from equipment or a domain managed by a third party over which Borgstena has no control, in which case the third party may process the data collected without Borgstena being able to configure its operation.
8.Categorisation of cookies by useful life period
Considering the useful life of cookies, they are classified as follows:
- session cookies — temporary cookies, usually deleted when the User leaves the website that generated them;
- persistent cookies — cookies that remain on the User's device until a certain date, at browser level, and are used whenever the User visits the site again.
9.List of cookies — presentation
The following types of cookies may be used on the website: strictly necessary cookies.
10.List of cookies — description
As of today, the detailed information regarding the functionalities and use of the cookies is as follows:
| Cookie | Domain | Purpose | Duration | Category |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| _GRECAPTCHA | www.google.com | Cookie set by Google's reCAPTCHA service to identify bots and protect the site against malicious spam attacks. | 5 months and 27 days | Necessary |
11.Acceptance of the use of cookies
Websites cannot operate without the strictly necessary functional cookies, so the User is obliged to accept their use. As for the other types of cookies, the User is free to consent or not to their use. The User's prior and express consent is always requested, unless the placement of certain cookies is strictly necessary to provide the service expressly requested by the User or to give access to a particular feature of that service, namely access to reserved areas or to specific features or pages.
12.Browser configuration
Browsers allow individualised control of the cookies stored on the device, as well as their immediate deletion, should the User wish to stop allowing the local storage of cookies. Any User may change the browser settings to block the installation of cookies or to be notified each time a cookie is set. For more information on how to carry out private browsing and manage cookies efficiently, the instructions of the Firefox, Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Safari and Opera browsers may be consulted. The User should be aware of the consequences of disabling cookies, as this may affect the operation of the websites, since the settings panel of most browsers does not offer a level of detail that allows the removal of only those cookies that are not strictly necessary.
13.Privacy applications
On sites, devices or equipment that offer this type of functionality, the User may have greater control over their cookies by using free privacy protection applications, available on various online platforms.
14.Changes to the Cookies Policy
Borgstena reserves the right, freely and at any time, without prior notice and with immediate effect, to amend, add to or revoke, in whole or in part, this Cookies Policy. All changes are immediately disclosed on the organisation's communication channels, and the User may, depending on the specific type of cookie in question, consent, in an informed manner, to its use or withdraw consent previously granted, by configuring their browser.
15.Exercise of rights
Users may, as holders of personal data, exercise their data protection and privacy rights at any time, namely the rights to withdraw consent, of access, rectification, erasure, portability, restriction or objection to processing, under the terms and with the limitations provided for in the applicable rules. Any request to exercise rights must be addressed in writing to the email address of Borgstena's Data Protection Officer, dataprotection@borgstena.com, or submitted using the Exercise of Rights Form available at any service point or at borgstena.dataprotectionofficer.help/borgstena/forms.
